Your guide
Hi, I'm Georgina
Registered Nurse · Mom of Five · Future Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
A Port Washington neighbor who has lived the wonder and the loneliness of those early days - and decided no mother nearby should move through them alone.
Why I started Nurtured Mom
I'm a mom of five, and Nurtured Mom began with my very first.
When I had my first son, I delivered by C-section - and somewhere in the middle of it all, I realized I didn't have the preparation I'd hoped for, for either the birth or the weeks that followed. I was moving through one of the biggest moments of my life without a map, and without anyone whose job it was to care for me.
Four more babies followed - four VBACs - and with each one I understood the early weeks a little better. But I never forgot how alone those first months can feel, even in a house full of love.
That's the whole reason Nurtured Mom exists. My focus is simple: helping new and expecting mothers feel prepared, informed, and genuinely supported - so the tender first months come with company and honest guidance instead of guesswork. Everyone says it takes a village, so I'm building one, right here in Port Washington and Sands Point, so no mother nearby has to feel as alone as I once did.
My background
A nurse's foundation. I'm a Registered Nurse, and I spent years caring for surgical and medically complex patients at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn - one of the most respected hospitals in the region. That training is the lens I bring to everything here: evidence over assumptions, and knowing when a question belongs with your own provider.
A foundation built on excellence. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the New York Institute of Technology, where I graduated as valedictorian of my class. I'm now a doctoral nursing student at Molloy University, training to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Focused on mothers. All of that experience points in one direction now: education and support for new and expecting moms. Not clinical care - clear, calming, judgment-free guidance through pregnancy and the fourth trimester.
The heart and the operator. Before nursing, I earned a degree in accounting and spent years in finance - which makes me the rare founder who is both the caring presence and the steady hand running things behind the scenes.
Five births of my own. One C-section and four VBACs - real, lived experience across very different births, and a deep understanding of how disorienting the fourth trimester can be.
What I believe
The mother matters too. Care shouldn't end the moment the baby arrives. The woman who just became a mother deserves attention, rest, and real support of her own.
Support belongs close to home. Help shouldn't mean a long drive or a six-week wait. Nurtured Mom is rooted right here in Port Washington and Sands Point, for the families who live here.
No one should do it alone. So much of early motherhood is harder than it needs to be simply because it's lonely. A village changes everything.
Education and community - not clinical care
Nurtured Mom is non-clinical education and a support community - a warm complement to your care, never a replacement for it. Your own providers lead your medical and mental-health care; I help you feel informed, supported, and never alone alongside them. And for anything weighing on you emotionally, I'll always encourage you to bring it to your own licensed provider.
